BiomecamanDo not follow the google maps or GPS directions, they will lead you the wrong way (onto private property). Access Alger Island campground via Petrie Road. There are signs for the campground on South Shore Road, follow them carefully. This camp site is water access only, there are many boat rentals in the area, but I do not believe the campground itself rents boats. Had a great time! brought our own canoe, no potable water on the island itself.

Rick RodgersGreat place for canoe camping. Bring your own food and wood. The island is small, but big enough. There is a picnic area on the east end of the island, some walking trails, and several lean-tos with outhouse.
