Cheri CarmichaelIncredible place to stay! The room (mine was a dog friendly room) was large, comfortable, clean. The views, both sunrise and sunset, are picture worthy. It is very peaceful. The location is fantastic...with endless hiking, lakes, restaurants, Old Forge, Inlet, Eagle Bay, etc all within minutes. I hated to leave and opted for "one more night" but alas this gem was booked solid that night. I highly recommend Great Pines if you're heading to the Old Forge area!!

L MazerThis is a very nice place for the money. The room was very clean and comfortable. (although somewhat small). We really liked the no-hassle electronic check-in/out. You are given a code via text to enter your room's electronic keypad. The grab-and-go breakfast was pretty good. Could use a few more options. Maybe some bagels or pastries, etc. The view is accessible as you walk outside and is only maybe 10 steps from the room. There is a little sauna and fire pit. The view of Fourth Lake is very nice! One of the best views from hotel grounds that I have seen. The grounds are very well kept and you can tell the owners take pride in the property. We would easily choose to stay here again. Worked out as a perfect quiet place to sleep after a day at Enchanted Forest Water Safari nearby.

If you're looking for a place with peace, quiet, and beautiful scenery, this is it. It has a classic layout that feels more like a motel than a traditional hotel. The rooms are updated, though they are showing some signs of use, but having a direct lake view made up for it and added so much to our stay.The prime location right on Fourth Lake is absolutely unbeatable. They offer great perks like complimentary kayaks and canoes to use on the lake, and the staff even sets you up for cozy fires at night. Everything is conveniently self-serve, including a small breakfast in the morning. It serves as a fantastic, quiet basecamp just a short drive from downtown Old Forge. It was the perfect spot for our family to unwind. We will definitely be back!

Themistocles PhrearrhioiThe area is great, love that they had a sauna. It was a great little trip up to old forge. Well now the downside, the room we had in the lodge was akin to a normal hotel room. But the AC was not great, they do supply a fan but the windows are taped shut so you cant open them at night for the cool air. The shower head needs to be changed out. It doesnt fall down on you at a typical angle. It is either hitting the wall or right in your face. There is more than enough room to have a straight down one or lower the existing head. But it is elevated far higher than any shower ive ever been in. Enough of the negatives. The food there is amazing, I wish it lasted long enough for pictures. The staff is great, very friendly and willing to help in any way. It is very much a contacless stay, so you get you code and just start your little vacation.

pitt27The best thing about Great Pines is that it is lakefront on Fourth Lake in Old Forge, NY. Beyond that, it lacks adequate staff, hard to find anyone if you need anything, rooms are very small, grounds are not well attended to. The restaurant often has only 2 staff member who serves as both bartender and server. Overall, very disappointing.
