carolann herbstWhat a great place to bring your family. There was a husband and wife and he said he was there for 50 days mining and his wife would come on the weekends.. The knowledge that that that couple had was mind blowing. They both took your time to explain it to my family and myself what we needed to look for in the proper way to dig. Overall, our experience there was wonderful. I have a 16-year-old boy that said he didn’t wanna go cause it looks stupid really got into it and he really enjoyed the knowledge of that couple gave to us and it’s just the act of kindness that those two didn’t have to share, but did and now My Son is wanting to go back for a full day Thank you for such a great time

Atalanta ProductionsWe prepared as much aa possible with protective gear, hats, gloves, sun blocking clothes, goggles etc and it was a great experience (first time) - we didn’t set any huge expectations as to what we would find, but sure enough ended up finding real crystals/Herkimers to take home! The gift shops and campground - as well as area restaurants - are very nice, clean, and we want to make another trip here soon!

William LatourThe campground is awesome place for kids, they have everything from a pool to parks and an awesome gift shop. The mines are pretty busy but there is enough areas to find a spot for the family and start buster rocks. Renting tools is pricy so I recommend having your own if it something you want to do annually.

Sarah ThorsonWe actually found a shady area which was wonderful. It was a super sunny day, so everything looked sparkly but we did walk away with some diamonds and had a lot of fun finding them. We also also did the Herkimer bag for sluice mining to get more. The gift shop was nice and Herkimer Diamond jewelry was discounted so we got several pieces. We also got some geodes from the gift shop and I absolutely love one of them!

R.S.Found lots of little diamonds. Really fun time. Wasn't too crowded when we went the third week of May. Nice store to shop in. You can rent tools and wagons, etc. There's a sluice to wash your finds. Next time I would stay at the cabins onsite for a longer experience. They seem reasonably priced. Great experience overall.
