Oscar and Linda Stivala were the most gracious hosts in their beautiful 1889 Mansion. Both are accomplished musicians and lovers and creators of art and books, and they will willingly share their talents and interests or respond accordingly to your needs for solitude and quiet. Oscar also is the creator of some Murals and artwork throughout this historic town and we were fortunate enough to get a glimpse of his work being shown in a gallery downtown. ||||As one of us was spending nearly 100 miles/day on bicycle, traveling from Rochester to NYC, we needed to leave just as sun was rising—Oscar willingly provided a scrumptious feast—including a fortifying “Banana Split”-sans ice cream at a very early morning hour, taking into consideration the high caloric needs of the cyclist and dietary preferences. ||||—and at an ice cream shop in the small downtown area, we came across a jazz CD featuring non other than our host, honoring his 80th birthday! ||||Both innkeepers are prominent members and lovers of Little Falls who are dedicated to its preservation and history.

Oct 28, 2018 · Google ReviewWe very much enjoyed our stay at Gansevoort House and especially appreciated meeting and chatting with the owners. Oscar is an accomplished musician and artist; he shared some jazz on his flugelhorn; the home is a gallery for his art as well. We were biking the Erie Canal end to end and he offered to lead us to the farmer’s market in the morning and then the first 6 niles of our next day trek, along with some historical color to boot! Thank you for the recommendation of the Copper Moose for dinner, a local favorite. We recommend this BnB
