We rode the Tupper Lake to Sabattis train. The fare was very reasonable, and overall the ride was nice and quite comfortable, but not quite as scenic as I thought it would be. Alot of just going through woods, and there is nothing to see at Sabattis. Also some information (i.e. audio presentation) of the area as we traveled through would be an improvement.
Jul 14, 2026 · Google ReviewThe staff were great, and the train itself was very cool. But, with kids it was a bit stressful because the train does not have any airflow and gets very hot. At the end of the track you have to sit for 15-20 minutes waiting for the engine to come back around, and the views were not great mostly just going through trees. I don't think it was worth what we paid.
Jul 7, 2026 · Google ReviewWhat a great trip. Everyone’s and i mean everyone was friendly and courteous both from the railroad personal to the residents of Tupper Lake that we encountered. It was raining on and off so we started at The Wild. You can figure a few hours there and they do have food available also. We then went to Raquette River Brewing for lunch. They have food trucks lined up outside and the one we picked was Marketplace . It was a great choice as well as the Beer selection. Next atop downtown where being a Sunday many were closed but our group seemed to stay busy. My suggestion would be to go to the Brewery last and take a little snooze on the train ride back. The shuttle they provide is like your personal driver. He took us everywhere and we did not have to wait long at all for our pickup. A great guy. Enjoy the scenery of the Adirondacks that you never see from the road as its path is through the wildest part i have ever seen.
Jun 16, 2026 · Google ReviewDid the Tupper Lake to Sabatis trip on 31 May for my Mom's 94th birthday. Bob the Conductor was great and the staff was very knowledgeable and careful using the wheelchair lift. It was a great 1.5 hour round trip.

May 28, 2026 · Google ReviewI bought tickets for the Mothers Day brunch train ride from Utica. The ride was nice, the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a plate of fruit on the table waiting for us which was nice. Once the train started moving we were served a very weak mimosa, a salad that was pretty good and bread. Both our entrees were cold, but tasty (we had the chicken and beef), the vegetables on the menu were non existent on our plates but they looked very mushy on others plates. We’re were given more potatoes when we asked where our vegetables were. The chocolate cake at the end was delicious.
