Jim MurdyMagic Matt created a fantastic adventure for us. Even with a relatively low water flow rate, he had us surfing waves, riding rapids and wet on a hot summer day. He is very knowledgeable, having guided on the river for 16 years, and shared great stories of his adventures on the river. Nathaniel, who was in the kayak to help anyone who decided to go for a swim, provided a sense of security and became our favorite target for ramming and racing down the river. Finally, Melody gave us extra paddle power and guided us into the portageluje a pro! A great trip with Matt! AOR really delivered.

Sarah PalladinoWe just did a trip on the Hudson with Garrett as our guide. The Hudson River Gorge is stunning, and doing a trip is the best way to see it. We had ages 9 to 80 in our boats and the rapids were manageable and fun for everyone this time of year (July). It’s a great mix of adventure and excitement and floating and swimming. Garrett was our guide, and we all agreed we had the best guide! He was fun, funny, knowledgeable, calm, and amazing in a couple spicy moments. He was also watching the other boats our day, and did a great job making sure everyone’s trip was fun and safe. I chose ARO because I live in the area, and have heard from many over the years ARO is the safest and has the most experienced guides. I’m not knocking other companies, but when I have nieces, nephews, and grandparents, I want to make sure it’s the safest. I would still chose ARO every time.

erica adamsI loved the whole trip for my first time here the guide people made everything easy when to paddle. I love how there were spots where you can get out of the boat and swim for a little bit. And the rapids were really fun to go through.

Trevor Rutledge (Rut)What a great time! Super professional instructors. Very informational trip / adventure! The black river is one of NNY's greatest secrets. Lived in Watertown for 21 years and never took advantage of the world class rafting and regret it now.. What an awesome time!
