We come here to browse the shop and get lunch, it's one of my favorite places. I dream about the BLT sandwich with a side of onion rings lol. Simple meal but always so delicious. My husband is a bit more adventurous and usually gets something off the specials of the day menu and he's always had great food too. Very friendly staff.

I recently stayed at Eats N Tiques in Thendara for a two-night getaway as a little treat for myself, and I absolutely LOVED it! The location is fantastic! It’s right in Thendara, just behind the train station, and close enough to Old Forge to enjoy everything the area has to offer without dealing with the noise, traffic and craziness of staying right in town. The Tobie Trail is also just a few yards away from the property, which was a huge plus for me. I was able to hop on the trail and walk right into Old Forge. I stayed in the Heritage Room, which is decorated to feel like you’ve stepped back into the early 1900s. It was such a cool, unique touch and made the stay feel completely different from your typical hotel or Airbnb. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was spacious, the room was very clean and everything felt welcoming. One of my favorite parts was the upstairs patio. At night, I could sit outside and listen to the live music coming from the porch below, watch the rail bikes go by, read a book, or just enjoy some peace and quiet. It was exactly the kind of relaxing getaway I was looking for. Breakfast was included with my stay, which I really appreciated. I had brought some of my own food along, so I actually didn't try breakfast until my last morning — and then I wished I had tried it sooner because it was delicious!! What really stood out to me is that you could honestly spend an entire getaway right at Eats N Tiques and have everything you need right there. The little general store downstairs is great, the café is a really nice and comfortable place to hang out, there's live music, and there's just a great atmosphere throughout the property. Next time, I'm definitely hoping to check out the speakeasy on the premises! So cool! The owners are really doing something special here. I've been visiting and staying in the Adirondacks multiple times a year for the past few decades, so I've experienced a lot of different places throughout the region. Eats N Tiques is hands down my favorite experience to date! It's unique, comfortable, relaxing, full of character, and perfectly located for enjoying both Thendara and Old Forge. I genuinely can't wait to go back. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Five stars all across the board with any deficiencies being disallowed because of the awesome staff, service, and uniqueness of this Hotel. Yes, it has an amazing History as a railroad hotel located right across from the Thendara/old Forge train station. You can actually take a train from the Utica Amtrak station right up here in front of the hotel. Old Forge is like a half a mile away. It is a step back in time. The offering of food is amazing. I had a French onion burger, which is served with a small bowl of French onion soup that you actually dip the burger into. Behind a bookshelf on the main floor is a hidden doorway to the speakeasy in the basement, complete with a full bar and piano player. The rooms don’t have TVs, but you would be amazed how much fun you can have without a screen in front of you all the time. . Rooms are very clean and comfortable. The whole first floor is a unique antique Market iand the front porch and balcony are just perfect for watching The beautiful Adirondack mountains and the stars at night. This place is still a secret but not for long. No waiting for food and they had plenty of vacancy on a weekend where I could not find a room from Old Forge to Vermont. Come discover this GEM before everybody else does. Also a fresh hot breakfast is included.

Great restauration of 1880s inn once used for loggers. They are downstairs in speakeasy so their footware wouldn't destroy upstairs floors. Antique store. Room rented. GREAT food. I asked how so good. They buy more expensive cheese, meat, vegetables, buns all highest quality. Cheese stretches like I remember as a kid! Line dancing and open mic this week. I am SOOO grateful for this place. Only complaint was the wonderful potato side was too big! They could cut it in half and charge same price! Across street is old train depot and train bikes!
