Amber HouseGreat steak house. Made sure we had a reservation because we didn't know how busy they normally get. Was created and sat right away. Great, friendly service. Food was good, I got the large sirloin to share with my daughter and we weren't disappointed. Dining area and parking lot were clean.

Michelle CzarneckiWe recently took a spontaneous trip to Old Forge for our 38th wedding anniversary. We saw The Steak House on our way, and drove back there the next day as it's just a short drive from Old Forge. The hostess/owner, Ann, warmly greeted us and explained that all of their tables were already reserved, but said she would see what she could do to accommodate us. Ann was able to find space for us at the bar, seated us and kindly introduced us to her son Ryan. Both his friendliness and detailed knowledge of the menu and how the dishes were prepared, were extraordinary. He went on to proudly share the restaurant's history of his family's 3 generation ownership, which was started by his uncle 55 years ago. Shortly thereafter, a booth became available which happened to be his uncle's helm location when he ran the restaurant back in the day–we felt very honored to be seated there! Ryan had us move from the bar to the booth, and introduced us to our server named Gabe, who was also incredible at his profession. Our meals were phenomenal–my husband had strip steak and I had the salmon...both were cooked to perfection! The beef barley soup, sides, fresh rolls and drinks were all very delicious as well. We shared hot chocolate lava cake ala mode with whipped cream for dessert, a perfect end to our meal. This stop was one of the highlights of our trip, and added memorable joy to our 38th wedding anniversary celebration! We felt like a part of the family by the time we left, and can't wait to go back. (Reservations are recommended as the restaurant fills up quickly.)

Phillip GriffinSo a campy steak house in old forge, I was skeptical at first, could almost say trepadicious. But the hostess soon put all my fears at bay. Was seated to a nice table for 7, food and drinks were above reproach. It is a campy steak house not like 99 or any chain. It's home made by a personal chef each and every meal. You can tell he takes pride in what he cooks as the food was amazing! Update 2026- Food was still amazing service was dealt with a smile and friendly staff throughout is great to come back and still have great service. Still highly recommended
